I have taken two classes, and I love the way I feel while I am there and especially when I leave. Thank you, Sweet Balance for being so great.

This is the best yoga studio around. I really like the variety of classes and the way the teachers talk us through the practice.

Thank you, Sweet Balance for being so great.
After realizing I needed a more restorative component to my fitness regimen, I found Sweet Balance in March of 2019. Since that very first class, I knew I was home. Each teacher has delivered a class that sticks to a defined curriculum but also offers unique personality. I am now close to 75 classes of practicing with this team of sweet and caring mindfulness guides and I encourage anyone who may or may not be familiar with yoga to experience this place for yourself!
This is the best yoga studio around. I really like the variety of classes and the way the teachers talk us through the practice.
I absolutely love this studio! The owners, Chanelle and Sandra, have created such a welcoming and beautiful studio! It is tastefully and eclectically decorated, always sparkling-clean and filled with a soothing fragrance of an essential oil being diffused into the room, all of which create a calm and peaceful space to practice in. The teachers are all fabulous! I know this because I have taken all the classes, and have enjoyed the unique way each teacher and class challenges, inspires and/or relaxes my mind, body and soul. Some of my personal favorites are the Strength & Surrender and the Good Night Stretch classes, both taught by Chanelle. The Strength & Surrender is a perfect mix of yoga, pilates and barre-inspired exercises for a fantastic workout and a relaxing stretch! The Good Night Stretch helps me unwind and stretch out after a hard workout at the gym, and I leave feeling relaxed and renewed. I especially love when we do ball-rolling (using tennis balls) in the class to soften all the tight spots in my back and glutes! I always get a good night's sleep on Monday and Tuesday nights after this class! If you haven't been to the studio yet, I definitely recommend you come and check it out! They offer something for everyone, have great deals and I hear that barre classes will be coming soon, which will be a great addition to their already fantastic line-up! Hope to see you on the mat there soon! - Beth
Do it with me: deep breath and then
Ommmmmmmm
I have been following Chanelle's Yin Yoga workshops held at different studios around the north shore since the beginning of 2015. Then the best news ever... she opened her own studio in Wakefield.
It was after my first visit to one of her workshops that...bam... I became in instant devotee! Yin yoga is just what I need, I have a bad lower back that twinges, sometime goes into spasms, and makes it hard to stand up straight right away in the morning. I have been to a physical therapist but it did very little for me to put it kindly. The medication I was prescribe was nice, but it didn't do a lot for me long term. I was given a list of stretches to do at home, but meh, it's just hard to understand if you are doing them right without guidance, not to mention finding the motivation.
Since I began Chanelle's Yin, I have noticeably improved my back; seriously I was always aware of my back discomfort and kind of guarding it. Now I'm not aware of my back, I don't really think about it, except to know that I must continue my sessions of yin. Because they have become more than stretching or physical therapy, they are a huge part of my wellness altogether. Time for me, self-care, meditation and on and on.
I still plan to occasionally follow the travelling yin yoga around the north shore but I am loving the Main St. location.
I just can't say enough about how truly wonderful these classes have been for me both inside and out!
Now put your hands together at hearts center, bow and ...
Namaste! - Elizabeth
I'm not an avid yoga participant, mostly due to my own packed schedule, but when I can, I try to take a class at Ahhh Sweet Balance. I've done the pilates class which I loved, albeit, I was in pain for 2 days, but a good pain :) Most recently they have added some fun classes, such as the mom-daughter yoga class which we loooove! It fits my schedule, it was so fun and I love introducing my daughter to yoga. We are taking another class tomorrow and can't wait! - Christine
This is an update to my review. I have continued going to Ahhh Sweet Balance and I love it even more. I have taken a variety of classes with the different instructors and have challenged myself. Every instructor that I have had, has been outstanding. The classes are challenging but the instructors take everyone's individual needs into account. Classes seem to fly because there is such a variety in every class. I'm so happy that I found Ahhh Sweet Balance and I'm glad that they found me. I'm such a big fan of the classes and the wonderful instructors that I have in the classes. - Geri
If you're looking for something special (one that will keep you coming back), I highly recommend trying a workshop or class at Ahhh Sweet Balance. It's a studio like no other (and that's a good thing)! Chanelle incorporates different modalities into the practices she shares, and each class is different from the last. Never repetitive, always unique.
She has a gift of combining both the mind and body experience for each class, expanding our practice beyond the norm.
I always leave feeling SO much better than when I came in. I have never been disappointed. All levels welcome (really - there is NO comparison to other places); adjustments are made and suggested. I do not feel I have to be anything other than myself and go at my own pace. - Maria
I love this place! Chanelle and Sandra have a great thing going. I never saw myself ever trying yoga. However, after suffering several injuries over the past 2 years from running, I figured I would give it a try. I prefer the slower paced stretching type classes to prevent injuries. All of the staff there are fantastic! I would highly recommend them. - Tim
I have taken Sandra's Barre class for a few weeks now. It is the best class I have ever taken. It works the entire body, is challenging and the stretch at the end of class is like a mini spa treatment. I leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommend this class! - Darleen
Rachel as always was amazing leading our practice. I feel a million times better than before class.
I was visiting Boston from out of town and was referred by Sandra. I went to the gentle slow flow class with Elizabeth. It was awesome! She was so knowledgeable and really knew her stuff. One of the best yoga classes I've attended. I left feeling ready to take on the day! I highly recommend! - Ashely
